Breaking up your text with pictures will make people want to read more and more and the more personal the pics can be the better. So if you’re talking about your trip to Montreal with the family don’t just use a stock photo, use one of you and your family! Another tip is to make sure and keyword optimize the titles of your pictures before you post them as well!

We don’t mind sharing people that we were struggling horribly, facing bankrutcy and foreclosure, before we ever became successful in our home based business. We tried and failed at many home based businesses. That’s not something you tend to make up!

People are more likely to connect with you when you write to them in a conversational tenor. You should write your blog posts, your emails and everything else your prospects will read in a way that feels personal.

No matter how many people you write to, only one person is reading your email or blog post at a time so it’s important that it “sounds” like you’re writing to that one person. Your prospects are less likely to reject you if they feel like you understand them and care about them.

That doesn’t mean that you become wimpy in your writing. Try to please everyone and you will end up pleasing nobody. Let me give you a recent example.

A prospect called me and said he wanted to become successful working from home. But then he went on to say that he wasn;t going to do this and he wasn’t going to do that. He admitted that he had never been successful in any home business.

It’s a rookie mistake to try to please every single prospect just so they will like you and join your business, but this guy has no chance at becoming successful with his attitude. I politely told him that I couldn’t work with him unless he was willing to do the very things he said he wasn’t going to do.

To make a long story very short he wasn’t happy with what I had to say and I ended the conversation promptly. This guy wants to become successful but he isn’t willing to do what successful people do.

I’m not trying to win a popularity contest and you shouldn’t be either. I’m trying to help people change their lives forever, and that’s more important than trying to win a popularity contest.

Your #1 goal is to establish a relationship with like-minded people who seek counsel on the way to their goals. Your job is to help them get to wherever they want to go. All prospects really care about is where they want to go and if you can help them get there.

You won’t find success in any internet home business opportunity until you focus on your prospects and what they want in their life!

This person literally drives me crazy because he is causing people to hate home based network marketing opportunities and those of us who are in them!

Let’s say you were going to a party at a friends house. You’re enjoying the party with a few friends, and this guy that you’e never seen before busts in to the conversation and starts shooting his mouth off to everybody just how great his multi level marketing business is.

Would you want to hear more about this super-duper business or would you look for a way to slink away from this conversation and talk to somebody else? You cannot scream at people about your great business. It turns people off.

People on social networks are, for the most part, buyers, not sellers and you need to target your offers so that they are informative and useful, rather than a blatant marketing ploy (which most people see through from the get-go).

It’s effortless to get caught up in looking at all the various websites out there. It’s also easy to sit down at your computer and 2 hours later look up and find that you haven’t done anything. If you don’t, you’ll find yourself jumping from site to site and not getting anything done on your business. If you’re like most people you don’t have a lot of time available anyway so the time you do have, needs to be used effectively.

2. Research

It’s fundamental to have knowledge about the things you’re executing and it’s important to continue to learn. However, if all you’re doing on the net is researching HOW to work online, that’s not so good.

Research should at most take up 20% of your time online. The other part should be spent actually shaping your business.

3. Writing

Writing for the internet isn’t exactly like writing for the New York Times. Yes, it should make sense, and yes it should be spell checked, but don’t spend a lot of time on a blog post or an article. Make it as solid as you can, but try to spend no more than an hour on an article and no more than fifteen to thirty minutes on a blog post.

4. Forums

Forums are a super place to gain information and study. Even So, they can also be a place where individuals talk a lot about working but do very little of it. Don’t get sucked into the meaningless chattering of an online forum. Go there ask your question, maybe answer a a couple, and if there is an ad posting section place your ad… then pull up stakes!

5. Myspace/ Facebook

Very similar to the forum problem, social networking sites like Myspace, Facebook and Twitter allow you to connect with your family, friends and business comrades. It’s also a outstanding site to market your MLM business. But make certain you’re investing more time on the actual marketing than the social aspect of these fun and habit-forming websites.

6. Youtube

When you view a video on Youtube they automatically show you a few more that you might enjoy as well. That can lead to you watching video after video after video.
